About Jeanine
I began to play piano at 5 and started formal lessons at 8. Over the course of my life, I have earned a Master’s degree in piano from the Manhattan School of Music, participated in national and international competitions, studied with the renowned pianist, composer, and educator Seymour Bernstein, performed in dozens of concerts as a soloist, conductor, chamber musician, and accompanist, and appeared as a guest artist on WNYC and WQXR. In addition to teaching piano for over 25 years, I’ve published articles in the music journals Clavier and The Instrumentalist. I’ve also worked in opera and musical theater as a music director.
The COVID-19 pandemic has opened a new window for me. Whereas I previously taught in my home studio, I have been teaching my students online since March of 2020. I have thus been able to accommodate not only my New York students but pupils in the Midwest and West Coast as well.
